The Region - the Coastal clay soil is the secret to the astounding coffee

Batu Pahat is a district in the Malaysian Southern state of Johor. Across the Straits of Malacca is the island of Sumatra.

One hundred km To the South is Singapore.

Bagan and Senggarang are the two main settlements where Liberica are grown. Senggarang has been the center for research and breeding of the Malaysian LIBERICA.

Both are coastal settlements. Underneath the top soil is  clay. In certain areas peat still covers the top soil.

The clay soil is the secret to the sweet favourable liberica.
